Chief Superintendent of the Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch Cheung Kin-kwong presented appreciation certificates to three frontline officers under Project Lighthouse II on July 15 in recognition of their professionalism, tact and restraint in handling confrontational situations with members of the public. Their cases were captured on video by the public and uploaded on the social media.
The certificate presentation was the first part of the project that was rolled out by the Complaints Against Police Office (CAPO) in the second quarter. The officers who received the certificates were Senior Inspector Wong Tung-pan, Sergeant Chung Kiu-man and Police Constable Keung Siu-wa.
The second part of the project is about a Force-wide Video Dubbing Competition. CAPO has produced three video footages simulating confrontational situations between officers and members of the public. These footages will be uploaded to the CAPO website on POINT in mid-September. Frontline officers will be invited to participate in the competition by dubbing creative dialogues on the demo video footages to resolve the confrontational situations professionally. Details of the competition will be announced soon.
