Commissioner Lo Wai-chung presented CP's Unit Commendation to the Hong Kong Police Band on October 24 in recognition of their exemplary performance of honorary duties in government activities, community and charitable events as well as overseas functions from 2000 to 2016.

Moreover, Director of Music of the Police Band Leung Bo-kun was awarded CP's Commendation for his leadership and professionalism in raising the Band's performance standard and strengthening the professional image of the Force.

Earlier on September 17, the Police Band delivered a mini-concert with volunteers of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for patients of Tai Po Hospital, who were mostly elders or people suffering from chronic diseases. Apart from golden oldies and familiar tunes that some might expect, the choral music and saxophone solo were a pleasant surprise to the audience. The hospital thanked the Band for their performance and looked forward to their next visit.
