With the arrangements of the Police College, two Senior Inspectors (SIPs), Ho Shun-wing and Hung Cheuk-fai, attended the Senior Leadership Programme organised by the College of Policing of the United Kingdom (UK) from September 6 to October 7. The programme covered four modules on professional policing skills, valuing difference and inclusion, business skills as well as executive skills, with a weeklong job attachment at the Hampshire Constabulary.
Besides interacting with their counterparts from different British counties and departments on policing matters, the SIPs took part in a series of critical incident tabletop exercises to develop their leadership abilities, decision-making skills and emotional intelligence.
During the attachment, the SIPs visited various departments of Hampshire Constabulary to learn about local strategies to promote youngsters to support frontline officers in policing. At a meeting with Chief Constable of the Hampshire Constabulary Ms Olivia Pinkney, she shared with the SIPs her experience in engaging youths by social media.
