Emergency Unit New Territories South (EU NTS) ran an annual Water Rescue Training Programme off Luk Keng Pier, Yam O Wan, Lantau, from August to October with an aim to enhancing officers' capability in handling incidents related to "Person fell into the Sea".

Under the co-ordination of Senior Superintendent (Operations) NTS Regional Headquarters Ian Clark and Superintendent (EU NTS) Choy Wai-sum, a qualified sea rescue trainer was invited to teach members of EU NTS sea rescue techniques and how to better utilise the rescue equipment on EU vehicles. The training programme helped to consolidate officers' professional competence in sea rescue.
