Deputy Director of the Economic Crime Investigation Department (ECID) of Shanghai Public Security Bureau Mr Hu Binyong led a delegation to attend the 12th Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Crime Investigation Practice Seminar hosted by the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) in Hong Kong (HK) from October 19 to 21.

The delegates discussed with CCB Chief Superintendent Wong Ying-wai and other CCB officers the issues of cross-boundary securities crimes, listed company frauds, major financial frauds and the financial intelligence exchange mechanism between Shanghai and Hong Kong. The delegates also briefed CCB officers on the Mainland's criminal laws, financial crime trend as well as the Mainland economic crime investigation units' collaboration with the Force in combating economic crimes.

In view of the establishment of a securities crime investigation branch under the ECID in early 2016, CCB arranged for the delegation to exchange views with the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong on the trend and the regulatory regimes of cross-boundary securities crimes relating to the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. Both sides agreed to strengthen the bilateral exchange and training programmes.
