Political Commissar of the Border Control Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department Mr Zhao Changhua led a nine-member delegation of the border control bureaux of Guangdong and Guangxi to visit Hong Kong from November 10 to 12.

The delegates toured Lok Ma Chau Control Point, the Marine Regional Headquarters and Operations Wing. Then they attended the 53rd biannual Anti-illegal Immigration Intelligence Exchange Meeting, at which the participants discussed the tactics against illegal immigration, alongside the measures implemented to enhance the existing intelligence exchange platform among Guangdong, Guangxi and Hong Kong.

Mr Zhao also paid a courtesy call on Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Lau Yip-shing. Mr Lau and Mr Zhao exchanged views on a wide range of operational issues, including the trend of illegal immigration and enforcement strategies. They looked forward to strengthening communication and collaboration between Hong Kong and the Mainland in combating syndicated illegal immigration activities. The delegation also visited the Under Secretary for Security and the Director of Immigration during their stay in Hong Kong.
