As the Spring Bud Project of Western District (WDIST) entered its 14th year, Acting Deputy Commander of WDIST Wong Kwok-kit presented letters of appointment to about 50 volunteers at an opening ceremony of the project on August 11.

With the staunch support from WDIST Junior Police Call Honorary President Council, TWGHs Jockey Club Lei Tung Integrated Services Centre and Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association, plus the active participation of the volunteers, a variety of activities and practical training were held for youngsters to inspire them to develop a positive attitude towards life.

This year, WDIST has solicited the assistance of about 50 police volunteers and students from The University of Hong Kong to spearhead the project. The slogan of the activities is "Be Brave‧To Try", an implication of the volunteers' dedication to nurture the young participants to face the challenges ahead and build a better future.
