The Force had clinched 10 awards in the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award (CSA) Scheme 2017, with two gold prizes, two silver prizes, four special citation awards and two meritorious awards received. The Force had pulled off the highest number of awards among government departments, having won five awards under the category of Regulatory / Enforcement Service Award – a gold prize, a silver prize, two special citation awards and one meritorious award.
The CSA presentation ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 7, with Chief Executive Mrs Carrie Lam and Secretary for the Civil Service Mr Law Chi-kong officiating before a large gathering of guests, including Members of the Executive Council and the Legislative Council.
Among the 10 awards the Force had won was the Silver Prize of the Best Public Image Award. The Force was one of the three winners of this award, voted by randomly selected members of the public, and all Members of the Legislative Council and District Councils. Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin and Director of Management Services Kwok Yam-shu received the Silver Prize on behalf of the Force.
Very honoured in having clinched 10 awards in the highly competitive CSA Scheme this year, the Force saw this achievement as a public recognition of its contribution to the maintenance of law and order and service quality.
The Civil Service Bureau has been organising the CSA Scheme on a biennial basis since 1999. The objectives of the Scheme are to recognise the efforts of departments and teams that have provided excellent service to promote a customer-focused culture in the civil service, and to inspire departments and teams to continue improving public services. There are three levels of awards, namely inter-departmental, departmental and team awards, with different categories under each level.
The details of the Force winning teams and their written submissions have been uploaded to POINT and the website of the Service Quality Wing respectively for officers' information.
