To prepare for the annual Police Charitable Dragon Boat Race to be held by the Police Dragon Boat Club in Shing Mun River in Sha Tin in October, the Club has started training 73 participating teams from mid-August.

In addition to promoting the dragon boat sports, the race would raise fund for the Police Education and Welfare Trust as well as the Hong Kong Mucopolysaccharidoses and Rare Genetic Diseases Mutual Aid Group. The former trust is dedicated to providing subsidies to police officers and their families, while the latter charity group aims to support patients who suffer from Mucopolysaccharidoses and other rare genetic diseases and their families.
