Marine Outer Waters District (MOWDIST) has recently launched "Project Marine Explorer 2.0" in Marine East Division (MEDIV). A sea safety and anti-drug activity was held at the MEDIV base for some 20 students from Kwun Tong Government Secondary School on April 10.

Marine officers explained safety rules of water sports and demonstrated police and rescue equipment to the students. The officers also partnered with the Dawn Life Education Centre of Operation Dawn to disseminate anti-drug messages to the students. Volunteers of the centre used virtual reality (VR) technology to let the students experience the adverse reactions after taking drugs. The activity concluded with a sharing by drug rehabilitators about the harmful effects of drug addiction.

MOWDIST thanked the Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) of Sau Mau Ping District for their assistance in organising the activity. Similar activities will be held under the project. For details, please contact the Training and Staff Relations Office or PCRO of MOWDIST.
