Officiating at the launching ceremony of the event, Chief Secretary for Administration Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung praised the Junior Police Call (JPC) as a key player in mobilising youth development, noting that its initiatives echoed the Government's youth policy. Mr Cheung added that JPC@Pat Heung has provided leadership and personal growth training to over 40 000 local and ethnic minority youths since its opening in 2017.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung said the Force spares no effort and strives for excellence in youth development. The Force would continue to enhance the JPC Scheme with a view to nurturing its members to become fight crime leaders and role models for youths.
The open day offered a rich diversity of activities, including a joint counter-terrorism exercise, Police Band and Police Dog Unit performances, a display of special Police vehicles and uniforms from different eras as well as some 20 exhibition and game booths set up by various Police units, JPC members and Police arts and sports clubs.
