Commander of Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) Chan Kwok-kee and Chairman of Kwun Tong District Fight Crime Committee Mr Lo Yan-lai officiated at the launching ceremony of "Green Leaf 'let's Share" on May 24 to promote the use of e-leaflets to spread crime prevention messages. About 700 students and teachers of CCC Kei Chi Secondary School attended the ceremony.

Delivering an opening speech at the ceremony, Mr Chan explained the concept of "Green Leaf 'let's Share" and highlighted its strengths of "specific and fast", "environmental friendly" as well as "public participation". This initiative was launched by KTDIST to echo the Force's Strategic Directions 2019-2021 and to promote the use of technology as well as public participation in crime prevention. Officers would set up booths on the street to publicise the use of QR Code and e-leaflets instead of paper leaflets to disseminate crime prevention messages. Citizens can easily become fight crime partners by "scanning" the QR code to get a digital copy of the anti-crime e-leaflet and "share" it instantly to their friends and relatives via social media applications, thus creating a ripple effect of publicity.

During the ceremony, all the students and teachers shared the anti-crime e-leaflet with their friends and relatives via social media applications.

In the second and third quarters of 2019, KTDIST and local community leaders have been setting up booths at strategic locations to encourage the public to "Scan & Share" messages for crime prevention.
