Under "Project Legacy", police alumni led some students of the Pui Ching Middle School to participate in a series of activities in Tseung Kwan O District (TKODIST) on May 11 and 12. The project aims to increase the students' understanding of police work and to strengthen the bonding between the police alumni and their alma maters.
With the assistance of TKODIST Police Community Relations Office, the students, accompanied by the police alumni, took part in the Kowloon East Happy Teen Sports Day on May 11 to gain a better understanding of the Police's community engagement work.
On the following day, the students attended a Cantonese opera performance of Tin Hau Festival in TKODIST together with the police alumni to learn about how officers liaised with community stakeholders. Afterwards, the police alumni led the students to Tseung Kwan O Police Station to take a look at the New Generation Report Room and other facilities. The students took the opportunity to exchange views with frontline officers. Meanwhile, Acting Assistant District Commander (Operations) of TKODIST Chan Kun, who is also a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, met with the students to talk about the work of the Force. This enabled the students to learn more about the professionalism of officers.
The police alumni will continue to build stronger ties with students and teachers of their alma maters to project a positive image of the Force.
