Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) staged Cantonese opera performances with the Sham Shui Po District Road Safety Campaign Committee at Ko Shan Theatre in Hung Hom on April 8 to disseminate road safety messages to some 1 000 Senior Police Call members from Kowloon West Region.


Officiating at the event were SSPODIST Commander Ho Kai-hin, Vice Chairman of Sham Shui Po District Council Mr Chan Wai-ming, Chairman of the Sham Shui Po Road Safety Campaign Committee Mr Wong Kam-choi and District Commander (Sham Shui Po) of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West Region) Ms Lee Kai-hang.


The performances were kicked off with road safety publicity videos featuring the Ambassador of the Sham Shui Po District Road Safety Campaign, Mr Raymond Wong. Then Mr Ho Kai-hin and Mr Wong Kam-choi delivered speeches to reiterate the importance of road safety and the correct use of pedestrian crossing facilities. A Cantonese opera troupe staged a situation comedy to spread road safety messages, as well as a series of Cantonese opera performances. All the participants were given gift packs.


SSPODIST will continue to work with organisations concerned to promote road safety to the public.
