Co-organised by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), the Judiciary Police of Macao and the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao, with the support of the Macao Science Center, the Hong Kong Education Bureau and other institutions, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth AI and Cybersecurity Challenge 2024 concluded on February 9. This year marked the second time of the competition and its first time being held in Macao.
The competition of this time, which commenced in September 2024, attracted participation from 126 schools and 1 182 students across Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. After preliminary selection, 117 students from the GBA advanced to the finals. These finalists were invited to Macao for an AI training camp lasting three days and two nights, during which they participated in workshops and visited the Macao Science Center. Through interactive exhibitions, they gained a deeper understanding of cutting-edge AI applications. During the finals, the students applied their knowledge in AI and cybersecurity to design innovative anti-fraud models within a limited timeframe, showcasing exceptional technical skills and teamwork.
