The New Territories South (NTS) Regional Committee on Complaints Prevention (RCCP) organised the Chinese New Year (CNY) Couplet Competition in January, aiming to alert the officers to areas that can be optimised in their work, as well as enhancing their professional sensitivity and awareness of preventing complaints. The overwhelming responses to the competition saw a total of 304 submissions.
Members of NTS RCCP selected works of the first, second and third prizes. The winners were awarded vouchers funded under the Staff Motivation Scheme. Moreover, Chinese calligraphy instructor of Police Painting and Calligraphy Club Ms Hung Cheung-hing was invited to transcribe the winning couplet, which was presented to NTS. Copies of the couplet were distributed to all police stations in NTS for adhering on entrances as a reminder for officers.
Regional Commander (RC) of NTS Mak Chin-ho and Deputy RC of NTS Yeung Man-pun appreciated the officers’ participation at the prize presentation ceremony on February 13. Chairperson of NTS RCCP John Carroll emphasised that the mission of NTS RCCP was to enhance the professionalism of officers and improve work practices. He also encouraged all officers to work hard for establishing high standards of professionalism and services.
