The Hong Kong Police Information and Communications Technology Society (HKPICTS) established a volunteer team in November 2024. In collaboration with the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau and the District Services and Community Care Teams from various districts, the volunteer team holds anti-deception workshops for the elderly to disseminate anti-scam messages among them and help them install and use the Scameter+ app, as well as enabling the security settings on their mobile messaging applications.

The volunteer team, comprising both serving and retired police officers, aims to assist the elderly in mitigating their risk of falling victim to scams due to their lack of digital literacy, thereby fostering stronger community ties for promoting digital inclusion.
