Guides help PCs map out their careers An advisory booklet to enhance awareness of Junior Police Officers on their career development, training and promotion prospects has just been published by Personnel Wing. The Handbook on Career Development for Police Constables offers information on the various career paths available to a PC. Personnel Management Branch Acting Superintendent Jerry Lee Kwok-chung said the handbook listed the types of training PCs could undergo at different stages of their career development. It also included information on promotion prospects at different points in their careers. "To make it readily accessible to PCs, copies of the handbook have been placed at Briefing Rooms or Resource Centres in police stations. "It will also be available on the Police Intranet - POINT in the near future." Mr Lee added that because of the possibility of creation, deletion or re-deployment of posts, the handbook would be reviewed from time to time and amended if necessary. Meanwhile, the Handbook on Career Development for Sergeants and Station Sergeants was set for release in early December. << Back to Index >> |
