Police service quality prizes


SCS W.K. Lam awards CIP Ma Kam-por

The Force collected two prizes in excellence for its commitment to serving the community in the 1999 Civil Service Customer Service Award.

Reception counter officers at North Point Police Station won an Excellence Award in the team section of the Counter Service Category while Central District's Police Community Relations Office also received a team Excellence Award for Front-line Service.

Presenting prizes at a ceremony at Government House on January 27, Chief Secretary for Administration Anson Chan highlighted the importance the Government attached to good customer service.

She said the good performance and efficiency of civil servants determined the public's perception of the Government.

The award scheme was launched by the Civil Service Bureau in August 1999, drawing a total of 259 nominations from 48 departments.
