I write to express our most sincere appreciation of the support and assistance given to us during the prison riots on Hei Ling Chau on June 4.
The professional and effective response by your officers was instrumental to the quelling of the incident speedily with the minimum amount of injuries and damage to property, reflecting as always the fine traditions of the Force and our co-operation in times of need.
Please convey our thanks to all the officers involved, particularly those who suffered injuries in the line of duty.
May I take this opportunity to renew our high professional regard for the Police.
