Traffic warden out of a jam

Complaints Against Police Office Kowloon Team Three Sergeant Fung Chi-fai and Yau Ma Tei Patrol Sub-unit Team Four Sergeant Fung Po-tak received commendations on August 15 for their top work in handling a bogus complaint against a traffic warden. Complaints and Internal Investigations Bureau Chief Superintendent Steve Chandler presented the accolades.
Yau Tsim District Traffic Warden Chow Shek-cheung issued a fixed penalty ticket in Arthur Street on November 22. But the offender and his girlfriend alleged the time and location was fabricated. Mr Chow's supervisor SGT Fung Po-tak was unable to mediate a settlement and CAPO Kowloon stepped in with the SGT locating an independent witness, his quick work greatly facilitating the investigation. Great effort was also made by SGT Fung Chi-fai in proving witness reliability and checking parking records.
The couple were found to have parked illegally and to have misled a Police officer. They were each fined $1,000 and bound-over for one year on June 29.
