Scrolling into spring!


Wong Tai Sin District distributed fight crime messages through spring scrolls on January 13. WTS officers joined community leaders and 40-plus Junior Police Call members for the campaign at Plaza Hollywood and Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre, after District Commander Ian Tyzzer and Deputy DC Maria Kong briefed the media on the District's crime situation. Mr Tyzzer also received a plaque of thanks for the District's top work in maintaining the law and order of Fung Tak Estate, detecting a number of serious recent cases including the serial attacks on pregnant women.

  • Central District Commander Mike Francis and officers joined community leaders and District Fight Crime Committee members to distribute spring scrolls and lai see packets carrying anti-extortion messages to shop owners on January 12. Meanwhile, next day, a fight crime carnival organised by the District, DFCC, ICAC and District Council was held in Sheung Wan's King George Memorial Park. It featured a host of activities including games, quizzes and a number of performances. Some 8,000 residents attended.

  • A New Year Fight Crime campaign was held in Kwun Tong Police Station on January 6 with Deputy District Commander Ko Chi-ming and several Kwun Tong and Sai Kung District Fight Crime Committee members in attendance. Artists including Sit Ka-yin, Chan Miu-ying and Cheung Tat-ming were appointed Fight Crime Ambassadors and calendar cards, spring scrolls and posters carrying crime prevention messages were distributed.
