The Personnel Services Branch is, once again, trying to bring warmth to the needy in collaboration with the Salvation Army, Staff Associations, PMQ Residents' Associations and Co-operative Societies and Force Volunteer Services Corps.
The Branch is promoting and co-coordinating the collection of warm clothing and other items for the under-privileged with the objectives of:
* Encouraging Force members to show concern and render their assistance to people in need;
* Reinforcing the Force's image as a caring organisation, and
* Promoting green management.
Details of the collection exercise are as follows:
December 19, 2003 to January 9, 2004
Warm clothing, books and toys will be collected at PSRC, POC, and PMQs at Tanner Road, Chai Wan, Ho Man Tin, New Wong Tai Sin, Shatin, Kwai Chung, Tsing Yi and Sheung Shui. The Salvation Army will put up signs at all collection points.
January 17, 2004 (Saturday)
* Distribution of donated items to the elderly.
* Publicity will be made to recruit volunteers for the distribution work.
Other sites:
* The Salvation Army will pick up donated items from other sites if the amount is sufficiently large.
