Force paddlers raise $250,000 for charity

Force members lent a big support to the Inter-Major formation Charitable Dragon Boat Race held in Shing Mun River on May 29, raising over $250,000 for China Star Light Charity.

The race attracted a total of 15 teams vying for various prizes. It got off to an arousing start following an eye-dotting ceremony performed by Chairman of the Police Dragon Boat Club (PDBC), Mr Tsang Wai-hung; Chairman of Police Sports Council, Mr Mike Dowie; vice-chairmen of PDBC, Mr Keith Lee and Mr Allan Li, as well as the Chairperson of Shatin Sports Association.

Following intensive competition, Team 1 from Operations Wing clinched the championship, followed by Marine Region and Operations Wing Team 2.

The race gets underway after speeches and an eye-dotting ceremony

On behalf of the Auxiliary Police, Commandant Kwok Chi-shun receives from Acting Commissioner Fung Siu-yuen the trophy for raising most funds in the charitable dragon race
