Station Sergeant (SSGT) Chan Kim-ming, a member of the International Police Association (IPA) (Hong Kong SAR Section), recently completed a Management Development Programme, Level 3, at Queensland Police Academy, Australia. The programme forms part of the overseas development training to broaden police vision, strengthen leadership qualities and enhance command and management skills. It also provides an excellent opportunity for networking and establishing means to pursue international co-operation in law enforcement. During the training course, Mr Chan presented a wall plaque of the IPA Hong Kong SAR Section to Mr Bob Atkinson, Commissioner of Police in Queensland. In accepting the souvenir, Mr Atkinson commented that the personal contacts made on the course would not only enhance international police co-operation at the working level but would also promote friendship among different sections of IPA. Mr Chan also presented some leaflets of the "Friendship Week Hong Kong-Macao (2006)" to his classmate, Senior Sergeant Rohan Burke, who is also a member of IPA Queensland. Mr Rohan undertook to promote the friendship week to all IPA members of Queensland. (Contribution by IPA)
