Railway District (RAILDIST) has been co-operating with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTR Corporation) to prevent and fight crimes in a bid to maintain the railway system as one of the safest ones in the world.

On March 11, RAILDIST and MTR Corporation jointly hosted the presentation ceremony of the MTR Good Citizen-cum-Vigilant Railway Police Award Scheme for the first time at the MTR Building (Kam Tin) to pay recognition to frontline officers of MTR Corporation and RAILDIST for their duty performances. The officers commended have contributed to maintaining a safe, comfortable and efficient railway environment for the public.

Individual awards were presented to four RAILDIST officers, Station Sergeant (SSGT) Chan Kwok-fai, SSGT Cheng Chi-kin, SGT Wong Lap-keung and Police Constable Pak Chuen-mun. The Team Award was presented to officers of the East Rail Line.

RAILDIST will continue to work hand in hand with MTR Corporation to prevent crimes and ensure safety within the railway system.
