The Wan Chai District Police Community Relations Office (WCHDIST PCRO) and the Counter Terrorism Response Unit (CTRU) jointly offered a talk for more than 50 young people in the Wan Chai Junior Police Call Clubhouse on April 19 with a view to promoting community engagement and racial harmony. The event also sought to give a better picture of the work of the Force to those interested in joining the Force.
The participants are mainly undergraduates as well as Form 5 and Form 6 students. Some of them are Non-ethnic-Chinese youths from the Islamic Union of Hong Kong (IUHK).
During the talk, Sergeant (SGT) Simon Ho from CTRU introduced the structure, duties, training and equipment of his unit with a PowerPoint presentation and video clips, generating a great interest in the work of the Force among the participants. They asked many questions about the jobs and equipment of CTRU. To some of them, police work is full of varieties and challenges.
WCHDIST Police Community Relations Officer Maxim Kwok thanked Mr Haji Khan of the IUHK for his support for the event. In reply, Mr Khan thanked SGT Ho for giving a very interesting talk, which, he hoped, would strengthen the bond between the local and NEC communities.
