They were presented with trophies and cash awards by Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang Kam-moon, and HSBC Chief Operating Officer Asia Pacific Region, Mr Raymond Cheng, at a presentation ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Chief Superintendent Wong Kwok-wai pointed out that the JPC scheme, adopting an inter-departmental and multi-agency approach, had organised various fight crime and anti-drug activities as well as different kinds of training to help members acquire positive values and develop their potential.
To further promote racial harmony, the JPC scheme had organised various activities such as visits to police units, community services and Chinese language classes for engaging the Non-ethnic Chinese community.
Finally, Mr Wong thanked JPC honorary presidents, school principals, teachers, JPC district councils, school clubs and relatives and friends of JPC members for their unfailing support and contributions to the success of the scheme.
Speaking on the same occasion, Mr Cheng said HSBC is a strong supporter of education, in particular projects to enhance students' holistic development. HSBC is proud to have funded the Junior Police Call Awards Scheme since 1986 so that young people would actively participate in community services, realise their potential, and cultivate leadership skills by participating in JPC activities.
