Recognising the need to retain and capture the valuable experiences of the Force's senior leaders, Police College has launched a Senior Leaders Exit Debriefing Series to provide a platform for retiring senior management officers to share their "tacit knowledge" with fellow officers.

The first two sessions of the series were held at Police College on June 28 and August 6.

Hosted by Senior Superintendent Eric Cheng from the Specialised Services Training Centre of Police College, who is also the Force Knowledge Management Champion, the first debriefing session, entitled "Leading at a Strategic Level", was conducted by Director of Management Services Tang How-kong, who spoke of the effective ways to implement strategic and "forward-thinking leadership" and the experience he had drawn from his leading posts in the Force.

Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang Kam-moon conducted the second session, sharing with the audience the challenges the Force had faced as well as his work experience.  He pointed out that the Force had gained wide recognition from the community with excellent performances, adding that the Force would continue to garner more public support and confidence.

Senior Superintendent Steve Lam, who attended both sessions, described the series as a very worthwhile activity allowing serving police officers to capture as much knowledge as they could from departing senior leaders. "It helps retain the valuable knowledge and experience within the Force and equip the Force for embracing the future," he said.
