Kowloon East (KE) Region has for the second year selected its Best District Investigation Team (DIT), with the honour going to DIT 5 of Sau Mau Ping District. The winner has edged out two contenders, DIT 8 of Kwun Tong District and DIT 3 of Wong Tai Sin District.  

A Selection Committee chaired by Deputy Regional Commander KE Cheng Suk-chun and comprising the Deputy District Commanders of Wong Tai Sin, Sau Mau Ping and Kwun Tong, Senior Superintendent Crime KE and Superintendent (Administration & Support) Crime KE, picked the winner on July 10, following a one-year assessment from March last year to February this year. The selection criteria focused on the contenders' quality of investigation and capability.

At a presentation ceremony held at KE Regional Headquarters on July 31, Regional Commander KE David Cartwright presented certificates to the winning team, which is headed by Detective Inspector Cheung Lai-ki and comprises seven young officers: DSGT Ng Ming-fong; DSPC Cheung Chi-leung, Leung Wai-ming, Ho Chi-lap and Leung Suk-han; and DPC Chau Sing-hin and Cheung Chun-kit.
