In a bid to engage the community, Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) Commander Lee Wing-kong led a party of 16 officers to call at the Hindu Temple in Happy Valley on July 21. Meeting the party were the President of the temple, Mr K. Sital, and members of the temple.
During a vegetarian lunch with his guests, Mr Sital introduced the history, services and some of the main festivals of Hinduism. At the same time, Priest Sharma also briefed the guests on the over 60-year history of the Hindu Temple in Hong Kong. Built with classic Indian style, the temple has over 12,000 devotees and is open to people of all religions.
Mr Sital and his committee members took the opportunity to express their appreciation to the Force for maintaining Hong Kong as one of the safest cities in the world. In response, Mr Lee said he would continue to forge close ties with the Hindu community.
