KE Regional Crime Prevention Office held a seminar for over 200 elders on July 26 and gave a briefing on the latest modus operandi of conmen and preventive measures with case sharing and dramas.

Officiating at the seminar with the District Commanders in KE and the chairman and members of a Fight Crime Committee, Kowloon East Regional Commander David Cartwright reminded elders to carefully deal with suspicious phone calls. 

At the seminar, elderly volunteers from different voluntary agencies in KE re-enacted street scams and phone scams in order to disseminate anti-deception messages to their peers. The messages were reinforced with distribution of fight crime souvenirs and publicity leaflets.

The companies that have been assisting in publicising anti-deception messages were presented with souvenirs at the seminar.
