A party of 23 Sea Cadets from Korea, Singapore and Sweden, as well as 16 Sea Cadets in Hong Kong, visited Marine Regional Headquarters and Marine Police Training School on August 12.

The visit started with Acting Regional Commander Richard Morgan briefing the young Cadets on the history, organisation, and duties of Marine Region. Following Mr Morgan's briefing, the Cadets toured police launches and attended a training session in an e-learning navigational simulator developed by Marine Police Training School.  The visit concluded with a tour of the Marine Regional Command and Control Centre.

Two of the receiving officers, Senior Inspector Ng Yun-fat from Marine Headquarters and Police Constable Kung Kit-ling from Marine North Division are long-serving members of the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps.  They both hope the visit would help the Cadets understand better the work of Marine Region and inspire them to pursue a career in maritime field.

A Singapore Sea Cadet, Ms Ong Shi-qing, found the visit very interesting, especially the launch simulator where she steered a police launch in an electronic environment.

A Hong Kong Sea Cadet, Ms Chau Cheuk-ying, said that after the visit she was more interested in joining the Marine Police after her studies.
