The Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, accompanied by Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, visited the Junior Police Call (JPC) Fight Crime Summer Fun Day at Police Sports and Recreation Club on August 26. They also officiated at a ceremony to call on youngsters to help Police combat crime and disseminate anti-drug messages.
Mr Lai commended JPC for enhancing the communication between young people and the Police, fostering close partnership in fighting crime, and helping groom future leaders for the community. He hoped the participants would disseminate anti-crime and anti-drug messages to their families, classmates and friends.
Mr Lai and Mr Tsang also toured around the venue and watched JPC members participating in various activities, including painting, handicraft and mechanic model making.
Organised by Police Public Relations Branch, the Fun Day aimed at enhancing JPC members' awareness of crimes and drug abuse as well as promoting positive values with various activities. Some 1,000 JPC members took part in the event.
