  • Fingerprint Taking Service
    This office provides free Fingerprint Taking Service for the public. If you are not applying for the CNCC whereas you only require assistance from the police to obtain a set of fingerprints for application of police check of overseas countries, please visit the CNCC office for the service. Members of the public must book an appointment through the Online Booking System (OBS). Those without an appointment will not be processed. Please refer to question 7 of “Frequently Asked Questions” of our webpage.

Notes to Applicants

In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“the Ordinance”) ( Cap. 486 of Laws of Hong Kong), the public can enquire whether there is any criminal conviction record against him / her being kept by the Hong Kong Police Force. If conviction data is found, a copy of the records will be given to the requester. If no conviction data is located, the requester will be only advised of the result verbally.

2. All Criminal Conviction Data access requests shall be made by the data subject unless exempted with a valid ground by the Officer-in-charge of the Criminal Conviction Data (CCD) Office. In any case, the data subject is required to be present in the fingerprint-taking process and the follow-up interview.

Application Procedures

3. Criminal Conviction Data access request can be made via the Online Applications Platform or at the CCD Office in person. Please also read the Frequently Asked Questions before submission of application.

Operating hours of the CCD Office is as follows:

Monday - Friday 9:00 am – 5:15 pm
Saturday, Sunday/Public Holiday Closed

4. Applicants who choose to apply in person at the CCD Office shall make an appointment through the Online Booking System (https://online.booking.police.gov.hk). Walk-in application will not be entertained.

Documentation Requirements

5. To submit a new application, applicants shall prepare the following documents:

1. Hong Kong Identity Card or valid Travel Document
2. A completed application form (online applicant only requires to fill in the application form on the Online Applications Platform);
3. The processing fee is HK$132 per person.
The Online Applications Platform accepts credit card, FPS and PPS payments. Applicants applying at CCD Office can pay by cash, Octopus cards FPS or EPS. Add-value service for Octopus cards is not available at this office.
4. Parent/Guardian Consent form (For applicant aged under 18 only)
Applicants under the age of 18 is required to submit the signed consent form by their parent/guardian to confirm that such procedures are processed with their consent on a fully informed basis.
5. The Data Subject’s Identity Document and Proof of Identity as a Relevant Person# of the Data Subject (If the applicant is making the application in the capacity as the Relevant Person)
# Please refer to section 2(1) of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance for the interpretation of a “relevant person”. Please note that if the documentary proof submitted could not meet the interpretation of “relevant person”, the application will not be accepted.

6. All applicants are required to give their consent to the Hong Kong Police Force to take and retain their fingerprints for processing the application.

Processing time and release of result

7. Online Applications

  • Applicant will be notified of whether the application has been accepted within 14 working days (subject to actual circumstances.)
  • Applicant (Data Subject) will be given a link to make the appointment for the submission of fingerprints at the CCD Office and the designated police stations upon acceptance of the application.
  • After the successful submission of fingerprints and the processing of the application, applicant will be notified to make booking for a CCD Follow-up Interview appointment for obtaining the application result. Applicant should make a CCD Follow-up Interview appointment through the link in the notification. Walk-in application will not be entertained.

8. In-person applications at the CCD Office

  • Applicants who have submitted their application in person at CCD Office shall make a CCD Follow-up Interview appointment through the Online Booking System (https://online.booking.police.gov.hk). The date of the Follow-up Interview should be at least 15 working days after the submission of application. Walk-in application will not be entertained.

Handling of Personal Data

9. The personal data provided by applicants will only be used for the purpose of processing CCD applications. Every applicant has the right to request for access and correction of his or her personal data, by sending a written request to the Chief Inspector (Support) Identification Bureau on 10/F, Arsenal House West Wing, Police Headquarters, 1 Arsenal Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. In order to recover the administrative cost of acceding to such request, the applicant may be charged for any copy of the data requested, and in most cases, the prevailing government rate for photocopies will apply. Fingerprints and other personal data collected shall be destroyed within a reasonable period of time upon conclusion of the application process.
