I am so lucky to have a chance to participate in the Better Food Better Life Recipe and Cooking Competition. Ten finalists were chosen out of 100 entries, while I was one of them. We had an hour and 30 minutes to cook an appetizer and a main dish with pasta of our choice and let the judges taste. Marks were given to decide the top three. I was a bit astonished for not being chosen as one of them, but later I realised that this is already a valuable experience to me. I felt so great wearing an apron with my name imprinted, which gave me a thought as if I was attending the Master Chef Indian cooking show. Everyone has their individual cooking style and they were creative in their own way. It was my first time cooking in front of professional judges and it was my honour to make new friends and take pictures with them.

The best thing was receiving encouragement and appreciation from my friends, teachers and parents throughout the competition. I would like to thank my Technology and Living teacher Ms Wong, who supported me by commenting that I am brave to take up the challenge. I would not have succeeded without her support.

All in all, I think no one should miss their chances to take a step forward to try new things. It gives us opportunity to meet more new friends and get experience.
