Nowadays organic research is mainly focused on the development of green and eco-friendly process which involved in the use of alternative reaction media to replace toxic and expensive catalyst. Recently organic transformation have been carried out inexpensive, non-toxic and environmentally way.
The recent versatile synthetic application put focus on the use of fruit juice as a biocatalyst in different chemical transformation. Orange juice catalyzed reaction including Biginelli Pyramiding Synthesis respectively. Orange juice was used as biocatalyst for reduction of carbonyl compounds and hydrolysis of ester, amides and anilines.
Application of fruit juice as a natural and biocatalyst allows mild and highly selective transformation and synthesis in a facile and eco-friendly manner. What makes us happier is that fruits are easily available in market and juice can be easily extracted as a natural catalyst in organic transformation.
