My name is Deep and I am a Hong Kong-born Indian. I am studying for a degree program in Nuclear and Risk Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. I am an Auxiliary Police Constable posted to the Tsim Sha Tsui Division.

According to the Juvenile Crime figures as recorded by the Police Force, theft is the most prevalent crime among the teenagers. The teenagers may lose self-control, especially when faced with material desire, and they may misbehave themselves for fun. Some of them think that their acts may not be noticed and some of them believe that they will not be arrested because they are student.

The non-ethnic Chinese community may have limited understanding of the Hong Kong Laws. They believe that theft is just a minor offence and can be remitted by their ignorance of the Laws. Some may even misbelieve that the provisions of the Laws do not apply to them.

Everything has a price tag. If you choose to buy it, you will have to make a payment; if you choose to steal it, you will have to pay the price of your future. A theft offence can lead to imprisonment with a criminal record, which will adversely affect your studies, career prospect and overseas immigration. Is it worth this price?
