Guide dog is the best partner of visually impaired persons, but do you know 90% of guide dogs in the world are Labradors? They, by nature, prefer to get along with human, and they like outdoor walk. They are naturally suitable to be guide dogs. Normally, the training for a guide dog takes one year. If a dog cannot complete the training in 14 months, it means that the dog is not qualified for being a guide dog.

The first training session is to ask the dog "follow instruction to go straight"; then, in the second session, train the dog to drag other objects and control its emotions and feelings with its guide saddle.

After finishing those trainings, the trainer will start to ask the dog to carry out more precise mission, such as turning left or right, stopping, and searching where the elevator are; the trainer will ask the dog to obey the traffic regulations, for example stop for the red light and keep going for the green light.

When a dog is able to go where the trainer wants it to go, such as bank, supermarket, and etc., then bring the trainer back to the original place, the dog has completed its training.
