JPC Member of Yuen Long DistrictKainat
My name is Kainat and I am a Pakistani-Hong Konger. I grew up and studied in Hong Kong. I am also a member of Yuen Long JPC and Project Himalaya.
I have dreamed of being a policewoman ever since I was a child. However, in our culture, it is traditionally difficult for girls to have the courage to pursue their dreams. Women are not encouraged to have a job or work in the society. Working for the Police Force is one of the occupations that many ethnic minority parents disagree. However, I am determined to take control of my own destiny.
Through participating in diverse activities provided by the JPC Yuen Long, I have acquired a great deal of knowledge and strengthened my self-confidence. After joining the physical training course of Project Himalaya, I began to realise that I should not worry about failure. I have recently applied for the Auxiliary Police and has successfully began the training on June 8th 2020. I was delighted that my hard work has finally paid off.
Nothing is impossible if you are willing to face challenges. I hope I can wear the uniform of the Hong Kong Police Force and proudly share my story to my community one day, so that I can encourage others to join the Police Force and give a positive impact to the society.
