A delegation from the Airport Security Unit pays a duty visit to the Metropolitan Police Service and the Sussex Police in the United Kingdom to study the challenges of policing in airports as well as the emerging trends in aviation.
The 20th Bilateral Meeting since Reunification between Mainland Public Security Authorities and Hong Kong Police Force is held at Police Headquarters to discuss matters of mutual concern. The mainland delegation is led by the Vice Minister of Public Security, Mr Chen Zhimin (left).
Ten Superintendents of Police, along with 12 of their Canadian counterparts, attend an International Executive Development in Policing (IEDP) Programme at the Canadian Police College (CPC) in Ottawa, Canada. The IEDP, jointly delivered by the CPC and the Hong Kong Police College, is a programme to develop police leadership.

Officers from Traffic Branch Headquarters attend the 18th International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference on Drug, Alcohol and Impaired Driving in Seattle. After the meeting, they visit the California Highway Patrol to learn more about the training on drug recognition.
A Force delegation pays a study visit to the Finnish Police. The delegation visits the Police College of Finland in Tempere to discuss the prospect for enhancing mutual co-operation and the
Pirkanmaa Police Department to study local policing.
The Director of Crime and Security, Lo Wai-chung (centre), leads a delegation to attend the 21st INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference in Amman, Jordan, where delegates from some 40 countries and regions in Asia, South Pacific Region and the Middle East discuss issues of mutual concern, including cyber crime, terrorism and human trafficking.
A delegation from the Emergency Unit of New Territories South and Hong Kong Island regions visits Brisbane Police Headquarters of the Queensland Police Service to observe their handling of offensive weapons and domestic violence; as well as traffic and crowd management tactics. They also visit the Command and Control Centre of the Queensland Police Service.
Small Boat Division of Marine Region spends three weeks with the Special Task Squadron of the Singapore Police Coast Guard on an attachment programme with the aim of further upgrading officers' capability to respond to emergencies at sea.
A Force delegation makes an exchange visit to the French National Police Force in Paris. The French officers brief the delegates on the planning and execution of covert operations to combat illegal online activities, including child pornography and human smuggling.
Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung (third from right) leads a four-member group to attend the 81st INTERPOL General Assembly in Rome as members of the Chinese delegation. The Chinese delegation is headed by Director- General of the International Co-operation Bureau in the Ministry of Public Security, Mr Liao Jinrong (centre). After the meeting, Mr Tsang visits Berlin and pays a courtesy call on the State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Mr Klaus- Dieter Fritsche.
