EOD deprives "bad guys" from launching their malicious missiles

Members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Bureau and PTU officers board a waiting
Government Flying Services Blackhawk that
airlifts them to the remote Castle Peak explosive
range where they will destroy 10 tonnes of
highly volatile ammonium perchlorate (solid
rocket fuel) which was seized by Customs &
Excise for being trans-shipped through Hong
Kong without a license

EOD cadre members prepare booster charges
out of sticks of PE4 plastic explosive

Then load the 50-kilogram metal
containers of ammonium perchlorate
onto a Landrover for transit to the
explosive range

In the searing 35 degree heat, EOD team
members place the plastic explosives into
the centres of the chemical fuel

Then members of the team
attach detonators to the
explosive cords leading to
the PE4 plastic explosives

At the end of the day, a Police
Bomb Squad member takes
down the red explosion
warning flag

The bomb blast is immense and
deafening with extremely
powerful shock waves

When all members of the operation have
vacated the range and are safely sheltered
behind a concrete observation bunker,
Senior Bomb Disposal Officer Dominic
Brittain activates the remote-controlled
explosion
