It has been a remarkable day for me to work as a civic ambassador in front of my dearest Yau Tsim District JPC members.
Anxiety and excitement were all that I felt right before and on the day, especially when I realised that it was our first time leading a tour by ourselves instead of just being a helper as before.
Preparations had been made a month before the activity was held. We had good planning and organising for the tour, and the objectives were well thought out. I also tried to make good interactions with our members.
In the whole activity, we would like to teach our members something more than the usual civic responsibility. We talked about communication strategies, such as how to develop effective communication skills with teammates by means of "communication sandwich". We spent time searching more information, especially current affairs for the members, helping them to get better prepared for the visit.
I believe that it is not just our members who are inspired in the activity. We as the organisers have gained a lot as well. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Civic Education Resources Centre and the Junior Police Call.
