I am Mohsin, a Pakistani born in Hong Kong. Representing Kowloon City JPC District, I had participated in a video shooting session of the Police Report in Police Dog Unit Headquarters on August 24.
It was a very meaningful experience as I got to know more about the Police Dog Unit. That was amazingly interesting. I got a chance to play with police dogs, take pictures and learn more about their daily life. For example, their lifestyle and how they are trained up differ from other dogs we usually see on the streets. It was a great learning experience. There are a variety of dogs in Police Dog Training Unit. The dogs have to be very well trained so that they can help the Police Force ahead.
The dogs are loyal and friendly to their owners. I visited the kennels. The environment is quite good. The dogs are given meals on time and the trainings are well planned for them. They were also taken for medical check-ups from time to time for hygienic reasons. The kennels are big enough for them to move around and play, especially for the puppies, while grown-up dogs have to live alone in other kennels.
To sum up, I really enjoyed the experience and am willing to join again in the future. I would like to thank all police officers that gave me such an opportunity to learn about Police Dog Unit and well-trained police dogs. It was a truly worthwhile experience for me. (Mr Mohsin KHAN, JPC Member of Kowloon City District)
