Stay cautious that scam emails are widespread nowadays. These scams can be grouped into two types. The first one is to pretend to be a friend or relative of yours and need urgent money transfer to a bank account because of loss of wallet or being detained by authorities. The second type is to ransom you for money after you open an unknown email attachment. It claims your computer has been hacked and important information has been locked.

Facing the first scenario, stay calm. Call or contact your friend or relative of the case to reconfirm his safety and figure out the next steps with him. For the second scenario, refrain from opening any unknown attachment as a practice. If it is opened unfortunately, take a picture with mobile phone and unplug the internet. Restart the computer and check if any document is locked. Call the police if locked.

In summary, stay vigilant and alerted when receiving any online message from strangers. Do not trust the email content.
