I joined a cupcake workshop with my father last month. On the day of the workshop, which was also my father’s birthday, I felt nervous at first as I did not have any baking experience beforehand. I was afraid that I might mess up all the things and unable to make the cupcake out for my father. However, my father encouraged me and said “Do you want to try something new? Let’s do it together!”. I became much confident to take up this challenge under the support by my father.

During the workshop, the teacher taught us skills and steps on how to make the cupcake, such as stiring ingredients and using electronic whisk. Actually, I did not well understand about the instructions and how to operate the devices, but my father assisted me to complete every step. Before I placed the mixture into the oven for baking, I had written “happy birthday” on the top layer of the cupcake without my father’s knowledge. When my father saw my products that I took out from the oven, he was surprised and touched.

This cooking experience was invaluable, as I devoted my greatest effort to show my sincere gratitude to my father who spared no effort to raise me up. Likewise, I was able to develope my cognitive and perceptual abilities, and recuperate from boring schedule at home during the prolonged pandemic.
