e-HR Self-services
This issue offers readers an overview of the brand new e-HR Self-services and highlights the enhanced functions for Leave Application and the interface between the PICS II and Duty Scheduler 3 (DS3).
Overview
The PICS II will provide HR self-services, embracing electronic completion of "Self Assessment" of the Annual Report Form (ARF), applications for leave, quarters and holiday homes, etc. All the services provided by the PICS II can be accessed from a single platform, namely the e-HR Self-services, through "POINT" or "POINT from Home". Officers can process their applications and ARF "Self Assessment" conveniently and safely at work and home.
e-HR Self-services - Leave Application
Upon rollout of the PICS II, Vacation Leave, Sick Leave and Casual Leave (Overseas Officers) will no longer be applied for or processed through the existing Electronic Leave Application and Processing System (eLAPS), but instead will be made electronically via the e-HR Self-services, and recommendations and approval will be administered through the PICS II on Force terminals.
The e-HR Self-services are specially designed to offer better support to frontline officers who do not always have access to Force terminals while at work. Since the e-HR Self-services can be accessed via both "POINT" and "POINT from Home", officers will be able to submit leave applications from home as well. In addition, other types of leave, such as Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Authorised Absence (Local Sports) and Annual Leave (Overseas Officers), can also be applied for through the e-HR Self-services platform.
Furthermore, upon receiving a leave application, the system will automatically calculate the projected leave balance of the applicant, and the "12-day rule" will also be automatically applied in calculation and reflected in the leave balance.
The Interface between PICS II and DS3
Information Systems Wing is redeveloping the Duty Scheduler 2 system under the DS3 Project scheduled for rollout in November this year. An interface will be built between the PICS II and DS3 to minimise discrepancies between leave records and duty schedules.
The e-HR Self-services will provide Force members, in particular frontline officers, with better and more convenient HR support services.
