My friend and I went to Hong Kong Police Dog Training School on April 18.
I learnt that the handlers have to wear thick jackets to protect themselves when training Police dogs. The dogs are trained to bite the suspects’ hands only when necessary to avoid accidentally killing them.
Secondly, they told us the special duties of the Police dogs, for example, Springer Spaniels and Labrador are trained to search narcotics and German Shepherd is trained for patrol.
I enjoyed my visit to Hong Kong Police Dog Training School and gained a lot of knowledge. I hope to visit there again!
